In Silent Memory and Reflection
With each New Year there
comes a time of sweet and sorrowful reflection. A time to consider all that has been done,
all that has been fulfilled
and all the ways we’ve made a difference in Luke’s memory.
Please take a moment of silence on November
22nd and contemplate the innocent life that has been the driving
force
behind our mission to serve disadvantaged children over the past nine
years.
We also ask that you take
a moment to reflect on all the wonderful work we have done together as we
embrace the
Ninth Annual Memorial of enhancing the lives of children in need. As the expression goes,
“Time flies when
you’re having fun” and we have joined together for many celebratory moments to
bring
Hope to the lives of disadvantaged children in heartfelt and meaningful
ways.
Along the way, we found the
perfect niche; to fund the ‘overlooked’, not the obvious.
Our funding
this year goes to two very important non-profit camps for kids who are faced with
unique situations. Comfort Zone Camp is a bereavement camp that transforms the
lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or
primary caregiver. It includes confidence building programs and age-based
support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. The
Semper Fi Fund Kids Camp and Mentor Program hopes to engage the children of
injured service members with unique activities and challenges. The stress
experienced by the child of an injured service member is sometimes overlooked.
The child must handle challenges and adversities that someone their age should
not have to face alone. The bonding of youth with a mentor will serve as the
focal point for follow-up support during the school year. Both programs are free to eligible campers
and our donation of $2,500.00 to each camp will assist with attendance costs.
Thank you again for
keeping Luke in your thoughts and prayers on November 22nd and for
your steadfast support throughout the years. We are eternally grateful for your encouragement and the healing that it
has offered us. As we contemplate the future of our work together, please stay tuned.
Our hearts are filled with
gratitude . . .
Sincerely yours,
Bill and Suzanne
